In plain words: Animal eyes beat our best cameras, yet eagles and snakes cannot build a telescope or microscope. So raw perceptual skill is not the same as the human ability to make tools that extend our senses. AbstractThe vision systems of the eagle and the snake outperform everything that we can make in the laboratory, but snakes and eagles cannot build an eyeglass or a telescope or a microscope.
